OBDKey Recommended Third Party Software

OBDKey has first class original software supplied on a USB flash device with each product. However, you may also be able to purchase and run other applications from third party application developers and run them sucessfully with OBDKey.

Here we list recommended 3rd party applications for Windows PC, Google Android Devices, Apple Macs, Apple iPhones and iPod Touches and Android Based Phones.

Please note that we take great care with the design and engineering effort that goes into the OBDKey vehicle interface units.  The software we supply with each OBDKey has been rigourously tested over many years and on many vehicles before we release to our customers.

We have taken great steps in testing 3rd party applications to ensure they are well engineered, cover the vehicles and the readings they say they do, and importantly, we check they work with the OBDKey hardware completely.

AlfaOBD Support

OBDKey firmware 1.40 has been customised to support the advanced features of the AlfaOBD Windows PC application.

MutliECUScan Support

OBDKey firmware 1.40 has been customised to support the advanced features of the MultiECUScan (version 2.8 onwards) Windows PC application. MultiECUScan has "with full support for OBDKey on all supported vehicles/modules."

Note that although OBDKey Bluetooth is supported, the OBDKey USB is preferred for "complex programming tasks like PROXI Alignment procedure".

AutoMobile for Java based cell phones. The software provides car diagnostics on your cell phone.

OBDScope for Symbian S60 based mobile phones. Supported phones are listed on the OBDScope website.

CarMan Version 0.6-1 or greater  for Nokia Internet Tablet 770 or N800

Software available for Apple iPhone and Apple iPod Touch Devices

Rev from DevToaster for iPhone and iPod Touch. The software provides a graphical view of dials and list fault codes with descriptions for your Apple iPhone or iPod Touch.

DashCommand from PalmerPerformance for iPhone and iPod Touch. The software provides a sensor readings and list fault codes with descriptions for your Apple iPhone or iPod Touch.

Software available (from 3rd party vendor) for Google Android based Devices

Torque for Google Android based phones.

Torque is an engine diagnostics application for Android that allows you to directly monitor your car engine control unit (ECU) and retrieve various information from the sensors connected to it as well as use your phones internal GPS and accelerometer sensors to graph other information such as acceleration
